Ten Man Tag Match

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, EVIL, BUSHI, and SANADA) defeated The Bullet Club (ROH World Champion Cody Rhodes, ROH World Tag Team Champions Nick and Matt Jackson, Adam Page, and The Villain Marty Scurll) This is the match where the Young Bucks infamously hit the “Meltzer Driver” on Daryl the Cat!!

Saturday 19 August 2017 emanating from The Liverpool Olympia in Liverpool we have the IPPV of the War of The Worlds Tour

Match 1 (Pre-Show)

CCK (Travis Banks and Chris Brooks) defeated The Boys –CCK received a nice ovation from the crowd

Match 2

Kenny King defeated Hangman Page with the Royal Flush

Ultimo Guerrero and Rey Bucanero defeated Mistico and Titan (Lucha Libre Rules) with a top rope Falcon Arrow

Match 3

Jay Lethal defeated Josh Bodom with the Lethal Injection. This is a real solid match and Josh Bodom really shined. Post-Match Silas Young continues his feud with Lethal and attacks him until officials break up the melee. Josh Bodom helps Lethal to his feet for good pop.

Match 4

Bully Ray and The Briscoe’s defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI, and EVIL) Not a great match, but there was some funny but…awkward moments with Naito and Bully Ray. EVIL gets the green mist of BUSHI sprayed in his eyes after Jay Briscoe gets out of the way and BUSHI eats a Triple 3D for the pinfall.

Match 5

Mark Haskins defeated Silas Young with a Blue Thunder Bomb after Jay Lethal assists. Real solid match, Haskins is one of the most underrated talents in the world, able to work almost any style with anyone. Post-Match another brawl with Silas Young and Jay Lethal.

Match 6- ROH World Television Championship Four Way Scramble

KUSHIDA (c) defeated Dalton Castle, Hiromu Takahashi, and The Villain Marty Scurll. This is the match with the hilarious spot with Dalton Castle, Hiromu, and Daryl the Cat. It’s hilarious. Good four way match all talented workers, yet they took it easy.

Match 7- ROH World Tag Team Championship

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) (c) defeated The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) another solid Bucks match, these four know one another so well at this point they can have a good match in their sleep. The finish comes when The Bucks hit the “Meltzer Driver” on Kaz for the pin.

Main Event-ROH World Championship

Cody Rhodes (c) defeated SANADA-Not a great match but a good one. The finish comes when SANADA has the Skull Lock (Dragon Sleeper) on Cody who reverses into the “Cross Rhodes” for the pin. But the best part of this was the post-match promo by Cody where he calls out former ROH /PWG/WWE Champion the American Dragon Bryan Danielson (Dan Bandanna). Cody calls out Danielson because there is no one left for him to face in ROH…que The Party Peacock Dalton Castle who answers Cody’s challenge with, “I’m left BITCH!!!”

Not the best ROH IPPV of the year but there was a lot of fun stuff about this show. Won’t win no awards though.

Sunday 20 August 2017 ROH presented night three of the War of the Worlds Tour emanating from The Edinburgh Corn Exchange in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Match 1

Kenny King defeated Josh Bodom and Colt Cabana in a triple threat match

Match 2

The Briscoe’s (Mark and Jay Briscoe) defeated Ultimo Guerrero and Rey Bucanero

Match 3

Bully Ray defeated EVIL via disqualification

Match 4

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, BUSH, and SANADA) defeated KUSHIDA, Mistico, and Titan –Fun six man tag match

Match 5

Hiromu Takahashi defeated Mark Haskins (really solid match)

Match 6- ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championship

The Young Bucks and Hangman Page defeated Dalton Castle and The Boys (c) to become the new ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions…more gold for the Bucks and The Bullet Club

Match 7

ROH World Champion Cody Rhodes and The Villain Marty Scurll defeated The Addiction (Daniels and Kazarian)

Match 8

Silas Young defeated Jay Lethal in a Street Fight

Having only watched the IPPV from night 2 and seeing clips of other matches I thought the Jay Lethal and Josh Bodom match was very good as well as TV Title Scramble match. It was cool seeing some of the Rev Pro guys like Haskins and CCK there for the shows. I’d love to see more crossover with Revolution Pro as they have access to some of the best talent in the UK and abroad. Additionally, when Cody Rhodes called out Bryan Danielson, I popped like a proper mark, and gushed at the thought of an ROH return for the American Dragon.
