Are we ready for Monday night RAW! Let’s see what happened on this weeks episode.
The show starts with general manager Kurt Angle in the ring to talk about the whole Jason Jordan thing. He’s interrupted by Braun Strowman. He wants Lesnar at SummerSlam. Samoa Joe comes to the ring next. He wants Lesnar also. Of course Roman Reigns had to come to the ring too. Angle decides to make a fatal four way between Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. The three of them attack each other and the entire locker room empties to break things up.
No Disqualification Match
Finn Balor vs. Elias Sampson
Last week Sampson made a mistake hitting Balor with his guitar. Balor comes ready for revenge. In my opinion I think that Sampson deserves to be in the big matches and the way things are going for him, it looks good. The two pound the hell out of each other until Sampson introduces a chair and he hits Balor with it. Balor turns the tables and gets some hits in himself. As Balor hits his kudagras the lights go out. They come back on and Brey Wyatt takes out Balor with a sister Abigail. Sampson gets the cover and the three.
Renee talks to Kurt about Jason Jordan’s match and they are interrupted by Emma wanting a match. Angle gives her Nia Jax tonight.
Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass
I have a soft spot for Enzo. He sucks in the ring but on the mic he is a monster. Enzo attacks first but Cass quickly takes him down. A “Casshole” chant fills the arena but Enzo’s screams of agony are louder. It doesn’t take long for Cass to take out Enzo and get the win. The attack doesn’t stop and Big Show comes to Enzo’s rescue. It didn’t help because Cass beat down Show quickly. I see a SummerSlam match between them two on the horizon.
I guess since there is no more Talking Smack, Renee needed something to do so interviews will be her thing now. She talks to Alexa Bliss about the Bayley/Sasha match tonight and what she thinks.
Emma vs. Nia Jax
A bit cocky but cautious, Emma goes for Nia’s legs. It works for a minute but Nia takes over and throws Emma around the ring like a rag doll. Emma can’t get a leg up and Nia gives her a front flip senton and then pins her. This was just a squash match, about 2 minutes tops.
We see an interview with Akira Tozawa who has a tapped up shoulder. Titus O’Neil tells him that be had his matched cancelled tonight to save his shoulder from more injury. Tozawa says ‘F’ that and heads to the ring. That was a bad move because when he calls out Daivari, Neville comes out instead. Tozawa beats him down in the ring but Daivari shows up and takes out both men.
Renee interviews Jason Jordan about his match tonight. He says he is nervous but he has been in the ring many times, just not solo very often. We see Ambrose and Rollins in the locker room getting ready for their match and it seems they may not be on the same page tonight.
Bayley vs. Sasha Banks
The winner of this match will be the woman to face Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam for her RAW women’s championship. Bliss comes out to sit in at commentary for the match. Banks keeps control for more of the match then Bayley, but don’t count Bayley out. She does get some nice moves in. They both want to goto SummerSlam so they go hard at each other. Their friendship is on hold for this match, and it shows. Sasha hits a frog splash but Bayley reverses it and gets the win. Bayley will face Bliss at SummerSlam for the title.
Renee talks to Curt Hawkins and he seems to be a bit annoyed about the whole Jason Jordan hype. He’s ready to go out and fight.
Jason Jordan vs. Curt Hawkins
The newly found son of Kurt Angle is debuting on RAW and its supposed to be a big deal. We already know Jordan is good in the ring and now that he is “Angle’s Son” he will get a push. Its good for the show, to push someone new but the whole Angle’s son thing? Hawkins attacks first but Jordan comes back right away. Hawkins got some moves off but it didn’t take long for Jordan to take Hawkins out with a pop up neck breaker. He gets the win in his debut match tonight.
The Revival comes to the ring for an interview before their match but they take the interview over. As they ramble on they are interrupted by their opponents tonight, Gallows and Anderson.
The Revival vs. Gallows & Anderson
Dawson and Anderson start the match off. Almost evenly matched, both these teams have a similar way of doing things. With only four real tag teams on RAW there is no reason that one of these two teams couldn’t be champions soon. As they beat the hell out of each other the Hardy’s come out. That distracts Gallows and Anderson and The Revival hits the shatter machine on Gallows and they win the match. Matt and Jeff run to the ring and attack the Revival like the Revival attacked them last week.
Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins vs. The Miz w/Maryse & The Miztourage (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas)
It’s main event time and this match is kind of a rematch from a house show that just happened last week. I will give them this, I am glad that Axel and Dallas are getting TV time and ring time because they both have tremendous talent, and wrestling is in their blood. Rollins takes control first up and with Axel and Dallas attacking, he still controls the action. The Miztourage works well together as does Ambrose and Rollins. Like the Shield days again. The Miz on the other hand sucks. The Miz taunts Ambrose and works over Rollins. When it looks like the team of three is starting to take over the almost Shield comes right back. The back and forth entertains the crowd and when things come to a head Ambrose and Rollins pull off the win. They hug it out after the match but when Rollins this the give the Shield fist bump, Ambrose takes off.
RAW was a bit different tonight. Roman Reigns didn’t finish the show, there was no pyro and there was no cruiserweight match. Tozawa and Neville got beat down but no match. Truthfully, the show wasn’t to bad tonight. Until next week!
