07. BUSHI, EVIL & SANADA (C) [Los Ingobernables de Japon] d. KUSHIDA, Juice Robinson & Ryusuke Taguchi [Taguchi Japan]
(15:46 via Skull End from SANADA to Robinson)

NOTES:

-Hirai Kawato continues to impress working with bigger stars. Aside from his attire being that of a young lion, there was no reason why someone just watching New Japan for the first time would see Kawato as being lesser than the three guys he was in the ring with on this night. The kid is really good.

-YOSHI-HASHI looked strong against Suzuki-gun, but I really don’t see him winning the NEVER Openweight Championship from Minoru. I have a love/hate relationship with YOSHI, myself… but he’s been very good of late in the build up to his confrontation with Suzuki.

-The main event was a lot of fun, with the LIJ team continuing to improve. SANADA and Juice Robinson had a lot of interaction in this match, and I feel like Juice would be a good feud for SANADA to break out more as a singles star.

-The field for the G1 Climax was announced, and I will touch on that more in its own post, but the aforementioned Juice Robinson will be making his G1 Climax debut alongside the notorious Zack Sabre Jr. The two inclusions that made me happiest this year are SANADA and Kota Ibushi, who will be wrestling under his own name for the duration of the tournament.

-Real quick, my pick for G1 Climax 27 winner? Tetsuya Naito. Wildcard pick? SANADA, because I see something special there, and other than him and Naito, the only other person I’d like to see win is Kenny Omega. Though, I have a feeling that Omega is going to be pretty busy after he becomes the first ever IWGP United States Champion at the G1 Special shows.
