Progress Atlas Championship Match – Matt Riddle © vs Mike Bird
What was already a dream match was today (31/5/17) made even grander with a huge announcement, today Pro Wrestling Chaos confirmed that Matt Riddle will be defending his Progress Atlas Championship against Mike Bird. This has classic written all over it, now though the stakes have been raised with this huge news. For Mike Bird, it’s an opportunity to truly introduce himself to the Progress fans after making his debut this for the company this year. Matt Riddle will be full of confidence, the self-proclaimed “King of the Bro’s” is one of the hottest properties in the wrestling industry and he never backs down from a challenge. With the title on the line this match has the possibility of rivalling the Hero/Dennis confrontations of 2015 & 2016.
King of Chaos No1 Contenders Match – Eddie Ryan vs Alex Steele
We last saw Alex Steele in a losing effort against Flash Morgan Webster, in the aftermath of that match he was seen nursing an injury, but now fully recovered. This weekend he takes on Eddie Ryan, who was last seen losing to Tommy Dreamer in a throwaway hardcore match. You could argue neither man deserve an opportunity after losing last time out, but for Alex Steele he has earnt once more chance, for Ryan you could say he has already earnt his shot at the title. Since last Summer Eddie Ryan has been very impressive in his outings for Chaos, he did have a title match in February, but it wasn’t exactly the one I imagined he wanted. For Alex Steele it’s another chance to face the man who has now cheated him twice for the title, so will one half of the Steele Dragons come out on top or will Ryan finally get his one on one chance?
Knights of Chaos Tag Team Championship Match – Modern Culture © vs Project Lucha
After seeing off the Steele Dragons and in April Bird & Boar, Modern Culture face another set of competent challengers. Both Martin Kirby & El Ligero have been within moments of winning the KOC championships, from crashing out of the title tournament last year to narrowly losing to Eddie Dennis & Alex Steele, their time might be soon. Although still champions Modern Culture have yet to have that defining win, their performances due to their cowardice have not yielded the most exciting title matches in the world. Edwin Ricci & Danny Jones as premier performers, like many of their peers they are former Dragon Pro Academy graduates and are two of the biggest prospects in the UK.
Team H8 & Sierra Loxton vs The Brotherhood
No matter their tactics The Brotherhood have made an impact in Chaos Wrestling, from their first initial attacks to their pinfall victory over Team H8 last month, they’ve made their mark. This time however the odds are even, with Team H8 having recruited a fellow enemy of the Brotherhood. The “Freaky Princess” Sierra Loxton returns to action after suffering an injury, she like Gideon & Jeckel is forgetting past transgressions to gain revenge. The Brotherhood will be riding high after their win in April, but Team H8 will be out for retribution for a team that have hounded them for the best part of 2017. The bigger picture is that whoever comes out of this will of course be looking for a fresher challenge, therefore if the Brotherhood are once more victorious a future shot at the Tag Titles seems possible.
